Fun ways of learning a language...!!

Fun ways of learning a language...!!

Learning a Language is all about diligence, persistence, and discipline. But does that make language learning so tedious and boring...?? Absolutely not, if we add an element of “FUN” into it...!!

Enjoyment and fun can be used as an effective technique in making learning easier and interesting.  On the other hand, being bored and stressed out will definitely not make you a better student..!!

There are many things you can do to bring out efficiency and pleasure in your learning process while breaking the language barrier:

Reading is fun:

Make sure you enjoy your books...it should be like your best friend whom you love to see. But other than just sticking to your grammar book and memorizing the verbs and their conjugations, you can read short stories and novels...and while reading if you come across a word or a verb that you don’t know, just check it out in the dictionary...it will surely be an add-on to your vocabulary!!

Listening is fun:

Listening and understanding the language are the most vital aspects of learning a language.  Listening makes you grasp the accent and enhances your comprehensive ability.  Explore the Internet and you will find several great fun pod casts available...Listen to songs, radio or news in your new language!!

Watching is fun:

Movies with subtitles are a great way to “break into” a language while having fun...Watch the movies of your taste- action, thriller, romantic or horror in your new language. When you are watching it for the first time, carefully read the subtitles.  Then once you know the story, watch it once more paying close attention to the dialogues.  Read the subtitles to know what is going on, but also keep your ears open!

Traveling is fun:

Who says that getting completely into something means you have to sacrifice everything? Does that mean you have to study in a dungeon, eat gruel and sleep in dirt? Go and learn in the most enjoyable environments you can find: sun, sand, or sea, café house, libraries.  Make language learning a treat and not a punishment!!

Chatting is fun:

There are many language communities and language exchange forums online where you can connect with the international crowd in an informal and fun environment. You can make friends and converse with them. It will also give you some insight into the culture you are curious about and should ease the difficulties of learning a foreign language and keep you motivated.
