A note for Language Learners: Don’t worry...No hurry!!

A note for Language Learners: Don’t worry...No hurry!!

Learning a new language can be quite a daunting and a time-consuming task. In the process of language learning, the learners will often feel that no matter how much they have learnt or practiced, there is always a new verb, a new vocabulary word or expression to learn. In other words, language learning is a never-ending process....the more you practice, the better you get...!!

When you are learning a new language that isn’t your mother tongue, you know that it will take you at least a few months to get comfortable with it. So take that into mind and keep on reviewing your performance and accomplishments...

Always set flexible goals for yourself, be focused, don’t be too ambitious and take it slow....!! Remember, that you are working on several aspects of a language at the same time- pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, comprehension and speaking ability.  So, it’s not possible to excel in all these things at one go. You might excel in one and feel quite mediocre in the other.

Don’t be too critical of your weaknesses as it can lead to discouragement. Acknowledge what you have already learned, evaluate your progress and assess how you can improve in the weak areas.  Do it analytically or intuitively; whatever ways you find best! And make sure not to give up and that you stay on track as you explore your new language...!!

Happy learning!
